Day care members enjoying afternoon tea in the Courtyard
Day care members, both Adult Services and Private, enjoy all the facilities of the day-centre from the moment they are collected from their homes by minibus until they return home in the late afternoon.
One of the relaxing features of the day-centre is the private and quiet courtyard (above). It is here that members can relax, talk amongst themselves, enjoy the sunshine, enjoy their afternoon tea or just sit quietly without interruption. In the Courtyard, during the summer months, when the weather is fine, day-care clients and staff join the local Beaver group in a barbecue, or sometimes listen to musical performances by visiting singers and local school children.
Additional facilities we provide for our members include a bathing service (with hoist), hairdressing and foot and nail care.
The hairdresser calls ar the Day Centre at least once per week
We like to provide lots of interesting activities for day care clients. One such activity is 'Wobbly Knockers', a game of skittles that is fun to play, gives everybody a little exercise and gets people talking.

Music is loved by all and our day-care clients are no exceptions. Children from local schools visit the Centre to entertain, Portchester Community School's Steel Pans are popular visitors and local choirs come around Christmas time to sing carols. Smith & Jones visit the Centre regularly and play and sing many of the well-known favourites. The clients sing along with the duo and thoroughly enjoy themselves.
