Please see below a report from the recent Year 7 Cross Country Championships held at Henry Cort.  Well done to all the students who represented the school and well done on your achievements.

'Congratulations to the Year 7 cross country runners who represented Portchester Community School at the Fareham and Gosport Championships.Facing difficult running conditions, and a large number of entries from eight other schools, all our students showed tremendous effort and determination to achieve runners up medals in both the boys and girls team events.

In the girls competition Georgie Lavery ran superbly to eventually win the race after a tense sprint finish. Grace Henderson, Chloe Peacock and Helen Edmondson also ran well to finish in the top twenty girls and qualify to represent Fareham and Gosport Schools at the upcoming Hampshire Championships.
The boys team narrowly missed out on victory in the team event after an unfortunate injury to Jake Turp. Brandon Jones, Ryan Goodyer and Craig Ward all ran exceptionally well to finish in the top twenty. With Jake looking solid in sixth place he sustained a hamstring strain causing him to drop crucial positions in the final stages of the race.To his credit Jake finished the race securing the runners up medals for the team.

Well done to Alex Sales, Danielle Pattison and Sarah Challen for the effort and determination they also displayed during the race.'
