Head Teacher's welcome message

Coming Soon!  Parents' VLE

It will soon be possible for parents and carers to log into the school VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) to check up on homework tasks, schemes of work etc, and to be able to look at examples of good work within subject areas.  Students have had this facility for a while but parents' provision has been delayed while the brand new OpenHive system is installed during the summer.  After this installation parents and carers will also be able to access school-related news, and crucially, will be able to see academic and attendance data about their children taken straight from the school's Information Management System.  Further information on this new facility will follow in September.
Area Athletics Triumph!

PORTCHESTER students have swept the board at an area athletics tournament – the first time the school has competed in this event.

A total of 15 physically disabled students joined more than 180 competitors and many of our pupils cam home clutching gold medals.

The Athletics Championship was held at the Mountabatten Centre and events ranged from obstacle races to throwing the javelin.

All students took part in at least three events during the day competing for 1st and 2nd places in order to win gold and silver medals.

Portchester won the overall event while Reece Kilpatrick, Year 7, came home with three gold medals for his excellent performances in javelin, throwing the tennis ball and the 30m unsupported walk.

Another notable performance was made by Jack Stretton, Year 9, who thrashed his opponents in the 30m wheelchair race.

Natalie Hibberd, Year 7, was just caught at the finish line by her opponent to come a very close second place a very exciting race. All the students and teachers had a wonderful day and even had enough energy left to sing ‘We are the champions’ on the way home. Well done to them all.
